What is ChatSnap?

ChatSnap is a Chrome extension that lets you export conversations from Claude, ChatGPT, and Google Gemini to Markdown, JSON, DOC, or PDF — in one click, with no setup required.

All processing happens locally in your browser. No data is ever sent to a server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which platforms does ChatSnap support?

Claude (claude.ai), ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), and Google Gemini (gemini.google.com).

What export formats are available?

Markdown (.md), JSON (.json), DOC (.doc), and PDF (.pdf).

Does ChatSnap collect or store my conversations?

No. Everything is processed locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.

Does it export the full conversation or just what's visible?

ChatSnap scrolls through and extracts the full conversation, not just what's currently on screen.

Does it work with custom GPTs on ChatGPT?

Yes. ChatSnap correctly detects and exports custom GPT conversation turns.

My PDF shows garbled text for non-English characters. What should I do?

ChatSnap automatically detects non-Latin scripts (Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, emoji) and uses image-based rendering for those. If you're seeing issues, try re-exporting — the detection is automatic.

The extension isn't detecting my platform. What do I do?

Make sure you're on one of the supported URLs: claude.ai, chatgpt.com, or gemini.google.com. Refresh the page and click the ChatSnap icon again.
