Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Plain English: Scrybe collects nothing. It reads the page you are on, converts it to Markdown on your device, and saves the file locally. No data ever leaves your browser.

What Scrybe does

Scrybe is a Chrome extension that converts the content of the active browser tab into a clean Markdown file. All processing runs inside your browser using Chrome's built-in APIs.

Data we collect

None. Scrybe does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data or browsing data of any kind.

How it works

When you click Transcribe to .md or use the right-click menu:

Permissions explained

No permission is used to access any tab other than the one you explicitly activate Scrybe on.

Third-party services

Scrybe does not send data to any third party. Google Fonts (Newsreader, JetBrains Mono) are loaded in the popup UI — this is a standard font CDN request and contains no user browsing data.

Children's privacy

Scrybe does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Significant changes will also appear in the Chrome Web Store update notes.
